Zeus Academy Ladder - File Description  


Description:
Zeus brings us a single player map/mod. Basically you in a temple-like room, and you have to fight your way to the top of the room. This is rendered useless, because from where you spawn you can simply walk to the top. When I did go down to fight, the enemies were easy to defeat, and they just kept respawning. Maybe it's good practice? The "objective" of this map is to get to the top of the map, after fighting your way through enemies. Again, this is basically useless because I was never able to "pass" the mission.

The map itself is somewhat well designed. It is well lit, and has various different methods of getting to the top, like stairwells, statues, etc. The idea of this map/mod is good, though it defeats itself. If there were some way to make the mission end when you reach the top, then it would be worth it. Also, it should be a much longer road to the top, and your character should spawn at the very bottom, not close to the top. This might be a good download if you are just looking to kill some time... well, killing!

DIFFICULTY NOTES

One of the main objectives of this map is for it not to be an easy map. You therefore may find it quite difficult. It is possible and I have managed to complete the map without using any cheats.

Installation Instructions :
----------------------------

This is not a normal map. It is a mod which means you must unzip the zip file to your GAMEDATA directory. This will create a "Zeus Academy Ladder" directory in your gamedata directory (Make sure that you extract with folder paths enabled). Then run the game and click on setup, mods and then load the "Zeus Academy Ladder" mod.

Then click on NEWGAME.
You will be asked to select your character.
Select your character and then choose your saber color on the following screen.
After clicking next, another menu will appear asking you for your saber type.

Do not unzip the pk3 file to the BASE directory otherwise the main game will be changed. Make sure that you do not create the "Zeus Academy Ladder" directory yourself , ie. There must be no "Zeus Academy Ladder" directory within the "Zeus Academy Ladder" directory.

If Jedi Academy is installed in c:\jk3 then the .pk3 will be located as follows :

c:\jk3\gamedata\Zeus Academy Ladder\sp_zaladder1.pk3

IMPORTANT :

This mod can be used by just selecting NEWGAME after selecting the MOD.

Some people may hate this map, some people may love it.

Not a huge amount of time has been put into this map as previous ones. I wanted to release this map before my university exams start as there are no additional single player maps for game addicts to play.

I therefore tried to keep the filesize low to prevent massive downloads.

I hope you enjoy the map!

Note : Please let me know if you feel that the map is too dark, and I will release a lighter version.
