Yeah well Activision nor Raven Software sent us an email regarding it cuz of their stupid $$deals with gayspy. And friday night all the JK2Files.com staff goes out and gets drunk so we didnīt notice it untill I woke up this afternoon (european time) so thatīs why I posted it  sorryf or the delay
i got it last night from some other site and it it actually shows burn marks on enemies when you slash them!  like a wall in JK2! theyre usually covered with them when its over lol.
oh yeah is it moddable?
look on CoDFiles.com itīs based on the Quake 3 Arena engine (heavily modified ofcourse) and only has a demo out and people are modding the shiznit out of it hehe, so well with JK seriesī background Iīm sure theres modability  Weīll see them in our inbox ey!
they just sohould get out the source code 4 us and then it should work (skins and so on should wrok neway).
i wonder if i can put dled things into the demo i got this on some other site and it rox im definatley getting academy.
the demo is good, but i dont like the sounds, no new force powers...i mean, its almost like a mod for jk2

I like how the dual bladed saber can become a single saber it really adds for versatility. This game is going to be great. And how the new moves are incorporated. The ls battles are 10x better now.
Well what can i say, its amazing everything i hoped and more.
I couldnt wait for the demo cos i heared some bad things about it from clan mates but the demo has TOTALY dispelled my fears!

how do you do the attack kada, the butterfly attack w dual bladed, saber shield, horizontal jump, run up walls, etc i dont know any moves
I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I downloaded it in 30 minutes, (YAY) but then, I found out that you can't select where it installs to. My C drive is full, but my D drive is starving for new programs.
too bad i have 56k...itll take me hours to dl this...
its a very good demo but just a tad bit laggy like when i push the rocks over the cliff with force push....just a lil bit thats it

ok.@ #21..to install where u want....use custom install...
#22 not tried yet but with dual saber if u try crouching and holding alt attack and try moving ur camera above the player he/she should start throwing sabers around in a circle...
hey i have some things to say bout this game. it is awesome. but besides that it needs more hilts i think. ne ways i cant wait till it comes out. mp has 2on1 duel and this aweome thing rebelvsimperial for echo base.
I d/loaded new drivers, and the game works, it soooo , it's brilliant, allthough i don't know all the moves yet.
Start running torward your enemy and press the attack and alt. attack buttons at the same time while your running. It works like that. Another good move is running up walls.Run right bye a wall and if it is to the left of you, press these buttons at the same time while running....W+A+SPACE....you should now be running up the wall! And do the same thing if it is to the right of you except now you press....W+D+SPACE....and that's another one! Another good moe is to push your enemy down with Force Push, then start running torwards him as he's on the ground and press these buttons at the same time.... W+SPACE+ATTACK....well thats it for me g2g

Yup Kyle is in the demo but you dont see too much of him, but evan better then kyle is Chewbacca he looks real acurate to his movie likeness.

I just finsihed the demo today. very good. Too bad there aren't many models to choose from thoguh. (I mean species)

I've played the demo through a few times now, and I would say that I'm impressed. The new saber types will take some getting used to, but they seem to be balanced. For example, dual sabers have greater range than the saber staff, but it's harder to block blaster bolts. The new cult members were pretty good, but I was honestly hoping for some Stormtroopers to slash up. Guess I'll have to wait for the full game. The Concussion rifle is well done. It's powerful, but not so insanely powerful that it's a doomsday weapon. Download this demo. You will not be dissappointed!

Overall I like it, but already I can see some "features" in the game that could potentially be annoying. From what I can tell, you pick a saber style (hvy, med, fast) for your character, and thats it for the rest of the game. So if you're a heavy and you've got to mo down a lot of guys you better find a different weapon or force power.
There are 2 levels in the demo. The first one is really crappy, most everything just has a real low quality sand texture all over it. Animation is jerky in the cinematics, the mouths mash around, and because of the different character thing, interraction with your guy feels impersonal and limited. However the other level you get to play is really graphically stunning. Plus playing feels much better when you're leveled up.

#48 Mr. Psycho, in the full gmae you will be doing a wide variety of missions, in packs of 5 - 6 missions, when u finish this "pack" of missions, u get called to the academy and u can choose to get another move (hvy, med, light) and furthere in the game u get to choose between staff or dual.

im not too sure bout this game... its good but theres just something bout it.
first annoyance is the fact that the demo is 2 real game missions unlike JKII which was a seperate mission for the demo.
second, i hate the fact that all you do is hack and slash...and hope for the best.. the saber fights in JK2 were better especially when u spawned loads of reborn. With JA all the enemy jedi do is use force RAGE and DRAIN...it gets frustrating that u cant get in close to go one on one/two without them getting u in a hold. wish u could disable that. The new dual/staff moves are good. and yes cinematics are a bit jerky...especially the way the models walk...but it is a demo.
....oh and fancy picking a mission with chewbacca in it....mind u it is a bit of a crap mission so hopefully the others wil be better.
This game is, is... no comments. Just amazing. Perfectly perfect. I love it. Can't wait till it get out!!! I would give it 20/10

Could someone be REALLY nice and put this is a zip format? I have a freakishly slow connection, even for dial-up (is about 16 kb/s freakish enough?) and I end up getting kick off at about no more than 20%. I've tried 3 time now and still haven't had any luck. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! I need something to do until the full game comes out
Hmmmmm, I liked it alot, but IMO it seemed to much like an expansion pack for JK2 not a new game :S also Why dont they switch to UT3 Or Better (not that they could) HL2 enigine. Q3 is getting to be outdated in graphics and game quality (also IMO). Still as a Addition to Jk2 11/10 as a new game 9/10

First i'd like to say that this is some revolutionary sh** the folks at Lucasarts and Raven are cooking up. THis is only the demo and i play it more than Galaxies. But one thing that kinda bothers me about the game...is the Luke Skywalker skin. Lol marvelous game but....that Skywalker skin what the hell ya know? Anyway im saying that if there are any skinners out there who are interested, please fix that skin and post it on this site so we can all appreciate Luke in this game lol. PEACE
Im confused. In this game dont they allow you to name your character? Why does Kyle call you Jaden?
Seriously d00d what dya want Raven to do? to make every cut scene where kyle or luke or whoever to talk to you actually say the name you type in at the begining of the game? Dont be so dense because that would be impossible, short of the voice actors spending there whole life in a recording studio to act out every scene with every possible choice of name under the sun.
Jaden is an asexual name basically meaning that it could be male or female and finally any species. Dont forget that your name probably isnt kyle katarn but i bet you never had a gripe about that playing JK2 single player ... just my thoughts ...

I downloaded it 10 friggin times and not a damn complete download, Lucasarts should know there are some players who have 56k and need some fair guidance to be able to download and it takes full of hours and lucasarts could at least made a zipped file or whatever.. i hear this game is not good as Jedi Outcast but only a little better, iT BETTER BE BETTER!
i used to have 56k and have d/l +150mb many times...yeah it takes hours but its either that or wait till it comes out or on a magazine cover.
Best bet is using a download manger.
u can always click download link again to get another d/l stream when the site only allows 1 download stream at a time :-)
#63, ShadowKeeper, in fact you can throw the saberstaff . You need to have double blade on, then press "L" (to deactivate ONE blade) and Alt-Attack at once. The second blade slowly goes out, but is still active at the beginning of the throw.
Besides, this game is SOOOO cool!! ten days dammit TEN! Seems like a lifetime lol!

Hey guys i went to the ext_data folder of the demo to see the npc's. Take the rancor for example: it has a file "rancor.npc" but when i tried to spawn it it said "ERROR: couldn't find (or "go", i don't remember) model default! Stormtrooper!" But i can spawn npc's that appear in the two levels of the demo. E.g.- jawa or reborn_new. Can u tell me what's wrong?

I tried the BETA version--which is the only thing you can get by way of "warez" or anything like that.
Game looks pretty hot, played a beta version that had most things complete in the game, like combat moves, cinematics, etc.
Mission and inventory selection are pretty good ideas, and are done pretty well. "New" force powers aren't new, just renamed (sense) and taken from MP.
The new moves alone would make this a great mod--then the new locations and DECENT (not really a new idea) story make it worthy of a purchase. Can never have TOO much of a good thing.
P.S. You can ride vehicles like a speeder--from Yavin in EP6:ROTJ, a Taun-Taun (Spelling?), and maybe more--that's all I've seen.
And please don't B!%*&. I'll be buying this game in the next few weeks--it seems worthy of a purchase to me.

TK8252MJL this is not the full version. Although there is a "rancor.npc" file in the ext_data folder of the demo. My question was why can't i spawn the rancor... But i found out why. There isn't any folder in models/players with the rancor model, so when u try to spawn it, it goes wrong.

lol the chewie level is the easiest ever i did it in like 10mins whereas the other level was thankfully very hard and wow how refreshing not fighting ***** easy reborns now we get to fight hard weird sith guys and double and duel sabers are more pimping than me on the weekend!!

If I remember correctly one of the designers for this game said something along the lines of this isn't a Dark Forces game, the next Dark Forces game should focus on the Katarns, and use a new game engine. I always got the impression that this was a little more "stand alone" than the last 3-4 games. Don't quote me on all this though, I could be seriously talking out my *****,
Played it through, loved the new moves, loved the enemies, loved the sabers, loved the reintro of the comp-rifle.
Granted, it does feel alot like a mod or expansion to JK2, but ntl, it looks like it's gonna be worth the buy!

If you are where the coffin or sarcophogus is, use your force sense, and look around. You see what to do soon enough.
AH, after you beat the 3 New Reborns (yes that's what they are), you need to use force sense there too. Look around with it, and you'll be presented with something to "open". I don't want to give it away too much, so forget my last post lol.

Whenever there is a model missing, the game will just spawn a Stormtrooper in it's place. But the demo didn't come with the Stormtrooper model, so it's looking for the Stormtrooper and can't find it.
I love this game, and im gonna buy it when it comes out... but i have one problem that i dont think ive read anyone else forseeing...
When people start multiplayer.. oh my god.. noone is gonna use single sabers. Everyone is gonna have saber staffs and dual sabers.. Regardless if they are good with them or not.
I think multiplayer is going to be very depressing.
But I do like the fact that we can make our own jedi. But i wonder if there are more races and genders in the real game? Were we just fed a sample of the games creativity?

What i was saying was that i was hoping for a fully customizeable game. When in there did i hint any sign of disappointment? In Final Fantasy X the main character TIDUS can have his name changed at the will of the player. that does not mean they went back and recorded every name. Maybe its you who shouldnt be so dense? Um...Im not sure what you were thinking but if youve noticed, that same skywalker skin is on the official website model galleries. The Kyle Katarn skin remained unchanged why couldnt they leave the Luke one unchanged. And for the last time, i am not complaing. i think this game ownz and its not even out yet. Im just trying to spark interest in any Skywalker skinners and get some questions answered....like the one bout Jaden. BTW would there be more cuztomization in the final copy than in the Demo. I of course think so but whos to say my infos always correct eh?

The Luke skin that came with the demo was just a model with a missing skin, I don't think they would show that at the main website. One of us might be misunderstanding something.
Took me just a overnight download thru ICQ from a friend file transfer muahaha you sucker 56kers lol, u should try that.. The demo was really worth the download and i am going to buy Jedi Academy on ebay pre ordered and i saved off $12 bucks! This game is worth to own and play!! Well i see i have been gone to long.Been on vaction.Well its good to see a demo out.Thanks to ravensoft.Just downloading it now.I would really like to see the mapping tools soon so we can get started.I know the tools wont be much different because its using gtk radiant.But it would be nice to have it.Well my download is done.Going to check it out.And i really hope this game can handle big open outside maps.I converted my map Little Italy over to enemy territory.I could not believe the difference in the fps.In jk2 i had 20 to 70.In et a solid 90 to a 100.So i really hope they inproved that problem.Because i like to make big outside maps.Well enough blabbing.Hope everyone enjoys the demo.Bye
Frame rate is a bit pants. Im running almost double the requirements then again my processor is the krappest know to man kind -the duron, the pantest processor ever.
Main complaints are that you still feel like your walking on ice and its not all that dissimilar from jk2 which is bad but then again good for us jedi knight oldies.
I also think its a little too easy - i played it my first time on jedi mode and the chewie mission took less than 10mins exc cutscenes and the big mission takes me about 15mins now. The best saber is the darth maul stylee double bladed as its so versatile.
Any1 know if in MP you can combine light dark powers?
OH BTW THE JK2 CHEATS (setforceall 3 etc ) WORK!!!

The customization is pretty cool and all. But do they give you more at the final release of the game. Cuz the character i had planned out needs black hair . And on a further note, the lightsaber moves are awesome. It gives the game a rewarding experience when you pull them off...me atleast lol. I have yet to pull off any moves with the single blade, but thats because i just started using it in JA lol.
I found something interesting, SkywalkerFan15. I opened up the *****ets0.pk3 and found that the Luke skin WAS included in the demo. But Luke must not have been put together correctly. Check it out!
I don't know if any of you have noticed or not, but while playing the demo, if you hit the tab key, it will take you to another screen that also has all the moves available. It shows you the moves and also tells you which keys to use to pull them off.
My friend has a copy of what i believe is version 1.0 and although multiplayer doesn't work i did play what i believe is the entire game. I'm not giving anything away but this game rocks, and all of you worried about being stuck with 1 saber or stance you can put your mind at ease and realize that this game is highly addictive and won't leave you annoyed or board. (except one really annoying level that involves dog-fetch gameplay)
For those of you guys about to jump on me for playing a pre-realse version realize 1 thing, i didn't download it, and i didn't install it, i simply play it. And can anyone blame me!!!!!
The best thing about the game by far is epic lightsaber battles and how cool saber locks look in JA. *finishing moves with dual sabers after a saber lock ROCKS!!!"
Major dissapointments include - Not enough force powers, sure the regulars are in attendence but i want more for a sequel. Also you should be able to choose your path a bit earlier in the game.
Other than that the game is awesome...lvl 3 jump ROCKS!!!
Btw, i have every single intention in the world of purchasing this game upon its release so don't say i'm destroying the company. I want to play multiplayer and i can't do that with my freind's pre-release version.
All in all this game deserves an 8/10 Better than JK2, but not soo innovatie that it will go down in history. Still very addiictive and it will undoubtably hold your interest for many months...plus the siege gameplay mode looks SOOO interesting!

I dont know how to use this demo i just got in downloaded and i put it in the base folder and i dont know how to play it if you could help on how to use it it woulkd be very aperisheated PS srty if any spelling errors!
What do you mean put it in your base folder? This is a stand alone demo, that does not require you to put it in anywhere except where it installs. It is in no way a JK2 mod. Just run the file, allow it to install where it wants to, or specify a directory such as C:JA. Once it is complete look for an icon on your desktop or under your programs and play it.

Hey while watching the Jedi Academy Trailer i cant shake this image of Boba Fett flying across on his Jetpack. Was that in fact Boba Fett? Can anyone tell me. As a huge Fett Fan (Who Isnt) I already know that the Fett man is alive, but those were Books and well...after reading that Yuuzahn Vong stuff i know for fact that nobody is counting that in the SW timeline. So if hes in this game that'd lay down the law that the Fett man did of course live. SO is this true or am i in need of gl*****es.

I have to admit, i didn't download it here. I got it at http://www.pcgamemods.com on the day it came out and It only took me about 30 - 45 minutes HE HA HO LOL at 56krs. And im only on DSL :-D well i also wanted to say that the demo is awsome . Best way to do the demo is to use setforceall 3 since it won't mess game up after levels. i was just wondering, what sabers do you guyz use?(single double or two?) i got two sabers and it rulez!!!! i have tried the others thogh. the kicking with the staff is pretty cool.and the new drain roxors!!! you can actually drain ppl to death!!! now i play the demo more than JO. that's sad THIS THING IS GREAT!!!!

No, you can't spawn Boba. It'll say Can not fall back to default Stormtrooper or whatever. All the NPC files in the final version were put in the demo, but not their model.

Hey maybe if you stick the jedi outcast boba fett model, if it's correctly named, into the model folder, it will work. along as the same with other things and I wanna ride on lukes back too!
Jimbo261, i've tried to do that with most of the npc's. (desann and all the characters of jk2 and also boba fett) But it doesn't work, because the "npc" file loads the the model made by lucasarts or ravensoft or whatever. And i think that u don't have it...

You can't mod the demo. It has some block in it that doesn't allow new pk3s.

First of all....this game is going to be SICK!
And to all of the pessimistic members saying..."no one will use single sabers in multiplayer, only staff and dual"...I will definitely be using single saber. It is far superior to the dual sabers and even more so when compared to the staff, especially in fast stance. It is very easy to get one-hit kills with the blue stance, because the force pull-stab is a heavily damaging attack. And even if all the noobs do only use the staff and dual...just show them how deadly the singles can be

okay, first off dual sabers ARE THA BEST!!! followed by single blue, then single red,staff,then single green. only reason staff is better than single green is cause you can do the kick move. with staff. But dual is the best. the special is AWESOME two sabers spinning around you? dont get much sweeter than that.also, did you check out the new taunts? theyre cool. the single saber one is the same, but the staff and dual taunts are new. v.cool.
the special for dual sabers is practicly useless, u have to use it right to get it to do good damage
I don't know if anyone noticed, but there is no red saber in the demo. I wonder if you can choose a red saber in the full game? I sure hope so...

EXACTLY!!! that just shows that you need to know how to use dual saberss to be good with 'em first time i tried dual sabers, i wasnt that good. but now i rox0r with two sabers n00bs wont use 'em cause theyre not that easy to use. the special is also a perfect n00b-killer

try running it frome "run" on the start menu. lasereye, try again l8er. or get it from somewhere other than jk2files. Glad to help, deiant. glad to know you didnt cheat to beat it they added a lot of force powers from mp to sp. sense is almost the same as seeing.

ok, i have download the file from many sites and when i start to install it a error come up saying like disk 1 error or something. Anyone know what to do?

try stardownloader. from what i've heard(i personally have no need for it) it helps with those types of situations linkewm, maybe you're missing some 'o the file or sumthin'. i duont really know. Did you get it here from JK2 files?

Ok, i had no problem dl the demo. I have dled it like 15 times and none work. My pc is fine with the demo. For some reason this happens on the install screen.

I've been D/loading for 1 hour now and because of my modem speed I've got 4%. It's 2:50pm over here, so by about midnight is should be ready. I have 2 questions for anyone who has already played it to see if I'm not wasting my time. #1. Is it true that even the rodians have somewhat human voices? and #2. How radically is the saber combat improved from that of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast?

Lucasarts say that legally any mods made must work only on the full version of the game, not the demo.
It's quite good, can use some cheats for the full game and is a great way to show off Jedi Academy. I wonder if there are any mods...

Hi, i have a question about JK3. I have had the game downloaded and it just stopped working. So i uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it (did a system check first and everything passed) but it stopped at about 92%. Then it said "Insert Disk 0 containing (i think it said) d4.base" so i inserted disk one and it didn't do anything. What should i do?

Very nice demo, no, jedijared7101, Models do not work in this game. Most cheats do, though, except for maps, most npcs, and some other stuff...

The only thing i like about JKA is the full versions mp. Only because i have so many sabers, skins, mods, and maps, that i love mp. Plus i love beating the heck out of noobs (hehe).
