Star Destroyer II - Botrouting Patch - File Description  


Description:
If you have the Star Destroyer II map which was added to the site yesterday, you may want to download this patch.

This patch simply adds botrouting to the map. Unfortunately, it doesn't make bots any smarter than usual, which is a real shame - because bots, like any form of artificial intelligence, are... "limited", to put it nicely. stick out tongue

According to the above quote, the bots will actually use fighters, which is something I'm impressed with as I've never been able to convince a bot to jump into an X-Wing, no matter what. So, Zap, if that actually works, nice one!

Well, what more can I say? This is a patch for a map, which adds a little offline ability. So, if you've got the map, grab the patch.

PS: Yes, I know I put it in Maps>Free For All. It's here mainly for convenience, since it should show right below the map itself in the directory.

I'm not sure there'll be bots in fighters, I never went anywhere near them when I tested the map, I'm just assuming that's what Zap meant with his comment.

If it works, cool. If not, sorry.

I placed a fighter on the botroute and a bot jumped in but he didnt move and some seconds later he got out.
I think bots are not programmed to use fighters, they have the task to kill as much enemies as possible stick out tongue

If you have WinRAR, then you can add the botroute folder to the original pk3. And, yes, I did it. Yes, WinRAR can open pk3 files. Yes, i found this out while I was bored.

you dont need win rar Aaargh!!! . You could use Win Zip and if u have xp then u can get this registry key that will make all pk3s into compressed zip folders Rock . You can get it here http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/PK3_as_Compressed_Folders;25263
