Description:

Ok, so we have a sound mod here, more specifically.. saber sounds. In the past I have tried a few saber sound mods, and never really found one that I wanted to keep to replace the base ones. So, is this one any different? Lets find out.

This file contains 4 new saber ignite sounds, and 4 new saber retract sounds. The first one I tried, to me sounded a bit strange, it was like an electronic version of two metal swords being scraped together fast, or possibly the sound when pulling a sword fast from a sheath. I thought it sounded quite cool, but I'm not sure it really suited a saber, but that would depend on your taste.

The next one I found was when I was using a staff, and it reminded me of the sound when Dooku ignited his saber in Episode 2 against Obi-wan and Anakin, I always loved that sound. However, it was slightly different, and I think I would have preferred it to be exactly the same, but we don't always get what we want now do we.. nevertheless I quite liked this one.

All in all, there is a couple of nice new sounds, its only a small file and worth checking out. Personally this version wasn't my taste, but I'll definately keep a look out for a v2. So, if your looking for some new sounds to enhance your days of slicing and dicing with your laser sword.. check this one out.

Install ========== Simply extract the .PK3 into your Jedi Academy/Gamedata/Base folder. ============== 2. Description ============== ------------- The Why ------------- Well, I made(am making) this pack for the community, as I wanted anyone to be able to use them with little trouble. As mentioned above, it's a work in progress as I intend to replace/update/remix all the sound samples for vanilla sabers. However, this will be a slow process as I procrastinate a lot : D. And please do present me with comments, any logical criticisms or thoughts. Otherwise, I will probably just go idle on this project. ------------ The What ------------ This pack currently replaces the default saber ignite and retract sounds. In total there are four ignites and four retracts. Certain sabers have different sounds. Some are remixes, some are entirely new. ================== 3. Bugs & Oddities ================== .......... Just a heads up: the "staff_saberoff.mp3" sound is kind of loud(but normal in-game) so be careful : ) .......... If you experience the "must make npc files smaller", then you have too many mods that change saber or npc files. You will need to erase unneeded/obsolete lines in the .sab or .npc files, or delete a mod outright until the error is fixed. ========== 4 .Credits ========== .......... I just noticed I uploaded a different pack than I had intended. Not a bad thing entirely, but I much prefer the current staff ignite I have. It'll be in the new version. Also, the first 3 sabers use my mix of the Jedi saber ignite(in the movies almost all Jedi sabers make this sound), what do you guys think of it? It did kind of feel out of place, but I couldn't see myself replacing it.
