| Sabergirl's Personal Skin (Leela model) - File Description |
 |
Description:
Sabergirl created a decent skin for herself for JK2, but it seemed to me that she was trying to hard to make it her by putting her face on the skin. Finally she succeeds in making a great personal skin that she feels she can identify with - it reflects her personality without actually making it her, y'know?
She's definitely gotten better at skinning, in my opinion. And the Leela Jedi model is a great model to reskin. I think the default skin is my favourite. Red hair, black "leather" (at least they appear to be) pants, with just a bit of her midriff showing and some tinted shades. Then there's a sexier version with a laced top that shows a lot, but not too much. There's a version of the default without shades, just glasses and a different hairstyle. Then there's a combination of the default and the less clothed one. And finally one of her in a skirt and fishnet stockings.
All of the team skins for these skins are very simple and just changes the top part of the skin to red or blue. It's very subtle. As much as I like some of these skins and the textures used and the design of the pieces, I have to say I have never seen z-fighting on a skin before. You'll see what I meant when you test this skin out yourself. It's at the waist and the top, near the neck. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that this came from JK2 and was put into JA. I don't know. The only other complaint I have is the shading in some areas is a little odd (like, on the back of her legs in the barely-there shorts). Otherwise, these are some great looking skins and I'd use 'em myself!

Hi ppl
Im constantly trying to make a skin for myself that I can more or less identify myself with :)
Theese skins I am very happy to release, cause I feel its some of my better work.
Im always going for Black when I make skins for myself, this is because I like that color
very mutch :)
This skin has been converted from JK2 to JK/JA (no bones changes) and now works perfectly
in JA without respawning of textures when you die (has been a problem with JK2 files put into JA)
To uninstall, just delete the sabergirl.pk3 file from the base directory.

and me.

Antizac From: (Minnesota) Joined: June 2nd, 2003 Posts: 129 | The ugly segment gaps (or seams, or whatever you call them) on the Leela models (most noticably on the neck) are now a thing of the past. I just stumbled on a switch in *****imilate, which fuses all the model segments together during the compile process - making the model appear as one solid model.
I really wish I would've found this a year ago. It was so simple. It was right in front of me the whole time. I wonder if there are any other modellers out there that didn't know about this...
Once again Saber Girl, awesome work. |

Gweth From: Joined: March 5th, 2006 Posts: 65 | Quite a few mesh errors around waist/elbows/collar etc etc. The vertex shaders are also a tad out of whack (thankgod in those areas she's wearing black otherwise 'oi.') |
