Rift Catacombs - File Description  


Description:
There are a few things I look for in a duel map. First, the map should be small. Second, the map should have a high FPS. These map meets both of these. Well, at least on my computer, since I have a good graphics card. This map has a platform that is placed overtop of a bottomless pit. So, you will need to be carful not to fall down. The overall theme was taken from the rift, so the walls are made of stone, and have crystals poking out. You can have weapons in this map, if you turn them on, so you can always have a duel with some of those. This map has bot support, so you can play it when you can’t get online. There are no new textures however.

This is a small duel map I made for Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy becuase I was bored, it took me about 5 hours to build and test it. Hope you enjoy it, any comments on how to improve it or requests for future maps please e-mail me at gamingmapper90@hotmail.com

Installation: Copy the .pk3 into your Base folder in the Gamedata directory. Then just start up jk3 and the map will be listed as Rift Catacombs.

Gametypes: Duel, Powerduel, FFA (recommend 2 vs. 2 max)

Contents:

New levels: Yes
New sounds: No
New textures: No
Bot support: Yes

Technical Stuff:

Brush Count: 174
Entity Count: 75

You may host this map on your server and redistribute it, as long as this readme and all the files are included and are not altered or changed in any way.

im nice however seeming this is his first map. i may not like it, but its good for a first try.

This is a really nice map:

10/10 for the idea
6/10 for the lighting - try to spreadsubtle light enities throught the map
8/10 for texturing - everything is cool except repetative wall textures.

So I give this map 8/10 big grin

i copied the leagl info stuff from another readme i made for another map, is there something missing? thanks for the comments, yeah i should have spread the wall texture out like it was done in the other rift map so it doesnt look repetetive. i did put ambience lights in the map, do you mean like under the platform too?
