Old Yavin Duel - File Description

Description:
Here we have a small duel/FFA map base on a Yavin theme. Personally the map itself doesn't seem all the Yavin-y besides the skybox... but that Yavin skybox will make anything seem like Yavin! In any case, it's something of a layered platform (a low part, a high part, and 'tiers' in between acting as steps) which reminds me of a flattened-out ziggurat. There are ramps leading to the top, in case you're not the jumping type. Beyond that it's very straightforward - it's a big open map for dueling in. No guns needed.

There were a few bugs to mention. Firstly, there we some caulking issues which I tried to show in the screenshots. A few areas were caulked that probably shouldn't have been. In addition the lighting is anything but realistic. Look at that sky! It should be bright as heck out! But the overall atmosphere of the map lighting is something of an overcast dreary type day, rather than a bright spring day. Kind of kills the mood, in my opinion.

Other than that it's a pretty typical map, but should be solid enough for a decent game.

This map aint that bad. Needs a little work though.

If mountains were used and the textures weren't too badly stretched it'd bee much cooler.

I may download that if the lightning is fixed. From the screenies, I can already say it would hurt my eyes to play in a map that dark.

For that time of the day, that building should NOT be that dark. Way too dark. Sorry. smile

Other than that, looks like a decent duel map with good obstacles.

I dont think that was intentional. Aka, thats not caulk. Its a triangle not being drawn. Or its normals were flipped somehow. I've had problems with this before too. I have no freakin' clue how tto solve this. Sorry. I'd like to know as well.
