JSA Downtown - File Description  


Description:
So, yet another clanmap waltzes in. Ah, but there are not as many clan references in here, so ALL MAY ENJOY WITHOUT HAVING CLAN TAGS SHOVED DOWN THEIR THROATS.

So, this map was built for FFA, Flying, and racing, basically. In the racing department, it would seem there are three different tracks going different ways. Naturally, this made me question if any of the tracks were shorter or longer, thus rigging ones chances for victory. However, I generally went a full circuit in about the same time, so I believe it's fine. Also, there is one new vehicle in here, a simple green swoop, to add to the track.

Texture and architecture-wise, this map was decent to look at. It had a bespin feel to it, but with its own interesting flare. I think the most interesting part of the map had to be how they recorded someone to say "Three, Two, One, Go." An amusing addition, by far.

You will be warned twice over that this map takes a long time to load on a number of machines, and mine was no different. Case in point, this might not be the most ideal of maps for quick meetings. However, it's not a bad pick either.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR SERVER HOSTERS:

THIS MAP CAN TAKE IN EXCESS OF 5 MINUTES TO LOAD FOR THOSE ON OLDER COMPUTERS.
THEREFORE ANY SERVER WISHING TO RUN THIS MAP MUST HAVE 'SV_TIMEOUT' SET TO A VALUE OF AT LEAST '600'
(Or else clients that take longer than 2 mins to load will get kicked automatically)

__INSTALLATION______

Put the JSA_Downtown.pk3 file in the gamedata/base folder.
Remove JSA_Downtown.pk3 to uninstall the map.

__DESCRIPTION_______

This is a clanmap for the Jedi Saber Assassins clan.
All parts of the maps are connected by highways. This allows swoop racing on 3 different tracks.
There is a new vehicle: a green swoop (swoop_mp1).
And of course, it wouldn't be a clanmap otherwise, there are some secret areas :)
