Gensun - Gray Jedi - File Description  


Description:
I must admit, when I saw this file in the waiting list, I thought it was going to be a reskinned Obi Wan or base JKA Jedi skin, but when I tested it out, I was nicely surprised to see that it was a very good reskin of Desann!

Desann seems to be quite a difficult character to reskin, because the model is so distinctive. A normal Jedi skin you can do pretty much anything with, because the model is quite simple and lends itself well to re-skinning. Desann however is this giant lizard guy, and there are only so many things you can change a giant lizard guy into.

However I must say that Exodus_1161 has done an excellent job here. He has really changed the way the skin feels. And I must say, this skin does look rather a lot scarier than Desann himself! I like that though, it kinda fits the theme of the ‘grey Jedi’ that this fellow is supposed to be.

And what is more, there are actually two skins in this pack, both with team support. There is a robed version, and then one with a more armoured appearance. The characters skin has been turned blue, and the clothing has been made grey, but there are still hints of colour in the trim and belt, so the skin hasn’t simply been de-saturated, it’s been done properly.

I must say, the combination of the blue skin and grey clothes actually works superbly, and really gives this reskin the ‘grey Jedi’ feeling. The face and head, in particular has been done very well I feel.

Oh and by the way, incase anyone doesn’t know what a ‘grey Jedi’ is, check out the Wookieepedia entry , it explains all about them.

I didn’t find any bugs during testing, so well done there mate. smile A cleanly made and bug free mod is always more enjoyable to use I think. Also on the plus side, these skins have team and bot support too. The team skins are well done as well, the colouring for the red and blue skins doesn’t scream out at you, it is subtle and well done, and yet it is still easy to tell the difference between them.

All in all an excellent reskin of the Desann model here, one I shall be keeping in my base folder! Two Thumbs Up!
