One of everyone's favorite maps from JK2 was the FFA Episode 1 by LivingDeadJedi. That map is making an appearance now in Jedi Academy.

For those who remember the map from JK2, there's not a lot new here. I found one room that was added on, but really the only purpose that hallway serves is to house a few more weapons. The map is definitely signiture LDJ eye candy and the FPS is quite telling of that. I have a decent system (not the best, but not ancient) and I was getting about 20 FPS in that one big area with the things ... y'know, those big glowy things. What are those called, damn it? Oh, and those red shield things ... those were changed a little. An animation was added and it just looks a lot better. There is one thing that I remember from one of the older versions and that is that we were able to go outside to play. But that's blocked off now. It's all just to look at. frown

Anyway, for those who are experiencing LDJ's maps for the first time - I'm sure you'll enjoy this map. He's always quite accurate and detailed. And the JK2 version was a lot of fun, at first. I have to admit, I got bored after the novelty of the map wore off. My biggest complaint about this map is, of course, the FPS. While the gameplay is great on this map (okay, I do have a lot of memories of being pushed, pulled, gripped and thrown off into the pit, only to be saved by one of those walkways and jump up behind Shroom and kick him off ... heh heh), there's nothing here that most of us haven't seen before. I'd like to see LDJ create a new map that's all about the gameplay and less focused on eye candy.

	Readme File: FFA_episode1_2004 IF POSSIBLE PLAY THIS MAP WITH FORCEMOD III AVAILABLE AT WWW.PCGAMEMODS.COM ITS REALLY REALLY COOL This is not a map that will play with good FPS on lowerend systems.. well at least not with Glow shaders on...but if ya not bothered then turn them on its pretty :p i found if you put screensize to 800 x 600 you will get a much better framerate Other things that can slow map down is having windows XP installed on an older pentium machine not made to use it..
