Clone Wars Clones - Part 1 - File Description

Description:
Did you enjoy the recent 3D animated Clone Wars ‘mini film’ and series? I know I did! And it looks like plenty of other people did as well, because they’re already working on a second season!

Here we have the first skins based on this very popular series, three new re-skins of the Clonetrooper model; Bel (From - Lair of General Grievous), Gree (From - Cloak of Darkness), Denal (From - Duel of the Droids). Whilst at first glance these might just look like normal Clonetrooper skins, if you look a little closer you can see the differences unique to the 3D animated style of Clonetrooper. For one, the depressed areas of their armour, along with the shadows are much sharper. This is most noticeable on the back of the calves on their legs, and the cheek area of their helmets.

The shadows in general, along with the coloured areas and details are also sharper and less natural, making them look more like their 3D animated counterparts.

Overall I really like these skins, I think they look great and I hope Clonehunter and anyone else who liked the Clone Wars series will make more characters from it! There are a few areas for improvement however. One big thing I would like to see for next time around is custom sounds, perhaps some quotes from the TV series itself to lend that bit extra authenticity. Along with that I think some proper team skins for each skin would be cool. I also think that maybe the shadowing on the armour could be made a little darker, but that’s really a matter of personal taste.

All in all good work here and I look forward to seeing more Clone Wars themed skins! smile

Description: When the Clonewars movie Came out, i was so excited.
AOTC brought up the idea of clones, and so i was waitng for RoS,
But was mildly disapointed with it. I was expecting Clones everywhere
all in some huge batle, but instaed it was just Aniken turning bad
instead. Thankfully, Cartoon Network came up with a Clone Wars
Cartoon which went deeper into the war, but once again, it mainly
just centered around aniken (even though i liked how the series ended right into
RoS). Thankfully, Lucas Animation came out with a Clone Wars Movie, and thank God!
Clones where everywhere!! Then a series with even more clone
adventures!! Wow! What a rush!! Then into the series, there
started to be custom clones! Hmmm, i got an idea. It was like this:
Coll custom clones on CN. I have a clone model/skin pack by
Alien_JL and KapnKeg. What should i do? Hmm... I know! make a skin pack!
So here we have three Clonetroopers from the series, all in the first package
of Clone Wars Clones (there will be more.). So here are my clone picks:

Bel(Lair of General Grievous): This was the clonetrooper on the left
gaurding the truck. Then he died.

Gree(Cloak of Darkness): You know this Camo Clone from Ep3, and this is
his phase 1 version.

Denal(Duel of the Droids): This blue clonetrooper was the clone sargent with the stripes
under his visor.

If you dont remeber them, just look at the screenies. Remeber original skin/models by
Alien_JL and KapnKeg.

Please enjoy!!

Great! I love the fact that people are starting to mod for the new CGI Clone wars series - I really want to do a map pack at some point - there are so many inspired settings.. so Great Clones here - and I dont think cell shading would work, these are CGI based rather than ink animated. So... season one Clone wars map pack... *runs off and loads up radiant!*

even without the ink outline you can still get a decent cell shading effect, just by taking away the lightmap and applying a white/grey environment shader

Hmm...might look nice with cel shading as an option, sure. But loda, doing what you said doesn't give a cel shaded effect at all...that gives you a flat texture with random shadows on it.

These are the characters from the new Clone Wars series, not the older cartoon, cel shading wouldnt look right since these are meant to look like the 3D animated characters. :S

Mind you i dont really know anything about cel shading, so i could be wrong!

well its not exactly cell shading because it dosnt have the outline, but it is a decent cell shading effect, similar to warsow (again, without the ink outline). also improper use of the word "random". also i wasnt even aware there is a new clone wars series? really? :O
