Bighall Duel - File Description  


Description:
Okay, here we have a small duel map. Most duel maps are small, but this one is a little big bigger. The reason? It has two levels. Yep, it has an upper and lower level. It also has a random outside area that you cannot get to.

Okay, for the main duel area, it's a square with a statue at each corner. What I don't get, is why the statues aren't all facing the middle of the square. When you're making something of even mild importance, the statues should face that place, as a point of honor and respect. But this isn't the case here. The upper level is just a small walkway for jumping around on. There was one big thing in this map that I didn't get. This was the observation area that was outside the duel area. While that might be there for observation, it's blocked off. Why put in part of a map that you'll never be able to get to? I would love to have a duel in that map and go all over it, from the bottom level to the top one and then outside. So I just don't get that.

CREDITS: No-one, just me, although oxyonagon taught me how to map

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION: Put the .pk3 file in the JK2 "base" folder.

DESCRIPTION: This was intended to be a small training hall found on Yavin or the like.

BUGS: The bots have a tendency to jump into the fire sometimes

COMMENTS: I released this a few years ago under the name "Nejaa" on pcgamemods.com so i am not plagiarizing the file, i am the same person! :D
I've decided to start mapping again so i thought i would re-release it under my current web name. Enjoy!

wouldnt a observation area be just for looks in a duel map anyway?

The observation area could have quite possibly been a design element to give it an additional sense of realism, similar to areas in Single Player you can see but not access without noclip - background detail that helps solidify an ambience.

The screens looks awsome, but with no bot support, no power duel and not even music, i wont download. Update it!

Hmm... thats odd, the first time i released the map it did have bot support. I'll fix it and re-re-release (stick out tongue) it. Thanks for the critique anyway! smile
