Bespin Traps - File Description

A trusted source claims this map needs more robots. No comment from me on that.

Anyway, I thought the name of this map was silly when I first saw it. I thought to myself "Bespin traps? Bepin trap would sound so much better." I now understand the S on the end. Very simply, there are traps in this map, and if you're clever you can uncover them and hopefully trick your opponents into killing themselves. Handy, eh?

So I know what you're thinking. "Aww, another Bespin map? Boo." Feel free to think it (but don't say it!), but this map is definitely not bad. It's actually quite easy on the eyes, and does not scream Bespin! at me like most Bespin maps do. It does have some custom textures, which might alleviate the monotony Bespin maps tend to get. However the fitting and well-crafted architecture really help to keep this map interesting. That, and it's made with gameplay in mind, not fitting a stereotype.

The more I look at the architecture, the more I like it. The blue texture really makes all the difference, especially since the author has used it in several ways to make several different looks. However the curves, couple with this particular texture, really give a unique flair to what would normally be a bland overly-copied Bespin theme.

My only advice to the map critic would be, if you happen to fall off, don't look up.

CREDITS: Credit to Lucas arts for the inspiration for bespin in Jk2. Also for inspiration from a map called CouldCity bY Desostros.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Add the pk3 to your base folder.

DESCRIPTION: Bespin traps is a duel map which was inspired on ffa_bespin from Jk2. I started making a tournament map and had one large area and I was going to have other areas to go to. Bespin Traps was one of those areas. The main area was just a little bit large and I had the idea to put the bespin_traps area in the larger one to see what it looked like. Once I compiled I liked it alot and decided to make a duel map out of combining those 2 areas.

Bespin traps is the only map that I know to combine 3 bespin styles into one map. ffa_bespin, bespin (sp) and cloudcity (cloudmorning or noon). Bespin has always been a favorite of many who play Jk2 and this duel map will give bespin a whole new twist.
